Hi all,
I am a senior at Slippery Rock University. I double major for a Bachelor’s of Science in Communications Converged Journalism & Anthropology. I am dedicated in my work ethic and have a compassionate mindset and amiable personality. It is my passion to achieve a career in sociocultural and intercultural communication. I hope to one day interview and learn about as many different humanistic stories as possible in modern culture and express how the human race is both amazingly diverse but similar all at the same time.
Being a passionate and enthusiastic person in my area of studies allows me to consistently improve my strengths and weaknesses and always expand my network connections by being a natural extrovert and people person. These qualities allow me to go outside of my comfort zone and challenge myself for my journalistic work in interview processes and writing and being a people person allows empathically viewing the world different than the typical person for my anthropological viewpoints. My end goal is to engage both local communities and global countries as globalization continues to increase with cultures intertwining now more than ever.
Naturally, I am a story teller. I love writing and finding a story to pretty much everything in life. This is probably what drove me towards a hopeful career in journalism. During my time at SRU, I eventually ended up adding another major towards my bachelor of science and that major was anthropology. I loved studying cultural diversity, social/hierarchical constructs in society, and global problems that involve humans. I hope to combine my two majors together someday and be an aspiring investigative journalist for global issues. I'm looking forward to traveling the world and exploring all the possible stories and adventures that are out there with the help from my majors at SRU. However, I will always have a soft place in my heart for my home in Pittsburgh, PA.
